About Me
Photography has been a passion of mine ever since my early twenties, when I was fortunate to come by a Nikon with an assortment of lenses. The smell of the ocean lured me to the sport of sailing, and over the years I have enjoyed racing and cruising with friends and family. This endeavour gave me the opportunity to combine photography with boating. During the Victoria Tall Ships of 2005 and 2008, I was there to document the festivities. A few years ago I volunteered behind the camera for Shaw Community Television filming short documentaries including one onboard HMCS Oriole. Another piece I produced was "Down the Lochside", a half-hour history using still, video and archival footage of the railway from Cowichan Lake to Sidney. This old right-of-way is now the Galloping Goose Trail. After retiring from the printing industry, I have had my digital images published in the Oak Bay News and Saanich News. In 2007 some of my photographs were used to promote the 75th Anniversary of the Deuce, for the celebration in Victoria. A selection of my "Deuce" photos can be viewed by clicking here. One of my favourite projects is volunteering with The Land Conservancy at Abkhazi Garden. A selection of Abkhazi Garden photos can be viewed by clicking here. More recently some of my photos have appeared in magazines and on posters. I continue to produce block-mounted images, while living in the beautiful city of Victoria. |
